Slot Machines – 5/5

Grand Villa Casino Edmonton offers a wide selection of slot machines which includes progressive jackpots. While not offering the biggest selection in Edmonton, more than 500 slots are still plenty and the variety was exceptional.

Slots we played at Grand Villa Casino Edmonton

We usually like to start with a progressive, so we sat at Jackpot Junction for a while and failed to secure the big win but picked up a few smaller ones. Next, we moved on to Plants vs. Zombies 3D, a big row of assorted Bally slots, and finally ended on Gong Xi Fa Cai which features a huge free spin bonus game.

Food & Drinks

Grand Villa Casino Edmonton has two dining options – Match Eatery & Public House and Centro Bar. Centro Bar acts as the casino’s main bar and is where you’ll grab a drink while playing games, and watch sports, but it also offers the same menu as Match.

Match Eatery & Public House is a large Canadian dine-in bar chain with a fairly “sports bar” styled menu. You can get wings, baby back ribs, large burgers, fish & chips, and a few Italian dishes. Prices are expensive with mains and handhelds starting at C$20 but, honestly, you do get quite a bit of food for your dollar.

Match Eatery & Public House

  • Opening hours: 11:30 AM – 11:00 PM

Centro Bar

  • Opening hours: 12 PM – 2 AM

No, the casino, nor Match Eatery & Public House offers a buffet.

The casino offers free secure parking to selected customers. Free parking is available at the #Lot404 to all MyClub Rewards and Winner’s Edge card holders. Additionally, Parking Pass holders can park in the underground P2 lot.

However, paid parking is also available at Roger’s Place and there are several secured lots nearby. Prices vary but usually cost around C$2-4 an hour.

The casino does not have a hotel but there are plenty of options in the ICE district. Those on a budget might want to look a little further out though as prices can be steep. The JW Marriot is only 80 meters away from the casino but typically costs over C$250 for a single night. Delta Hotels by Marriot is close by too but costs upwards of C$150 per night.

We stayed at the Sandman Signature, which is a 4-star hotel about 200 meters down the road, and that cost us C$120 on Saturday night.

The casino is smoke-free, so you’ll have to take your cigarette, cigar, or vape outside.

Security was checking the IDs of every guest when we entered and that included those who were clearly over 30. We did hear reports of drunk players not being ejected when they were disturbing other players but nothing of the sort occurred during our visit.

CCTV covered the casino floor and the secured parking lot had cameras and was located underground.
