How to Play Baccarat and Win
The goal of baccarat is simple. Wager on one of three possible outcomes; player win, banker win and a tie. Your wager wins if your choice’s total is closest to 9.
At a baccarat table, the first thing you do is to wager using the tokens /chips on the Player area, Banker area, or Tie bet. The dealer then deals two cards face-up, each to the player and the banker.
- Baccarat uses three to six standard 52-card decks.
- Cards two through nine are worth their face value.
- A 10, Jack, Queen, and King cards are worth 0.
- An Ace is worth one.
The best baccarat betting strategy is to add the value of the first two cards to determine the total—the hand closest to 9 wins. In you’ve staked on banker’s hand and it wins, you will receive a payout twice your first bet. However, the banker pays 95% of your wager.
If the total of any hand is greater than nine, you’ll have to deduct ten or drop the total’s first digit to get the correct value. For instance, if a hand adds up to 15, and you drop the first digit or minus 10, your final total would be 5.
3 Different Types of Baccarat Bets
-
-
Banker bets
-
You win if the banker hand is closer to nine than the player’s hand. In case the player’s first two cards are an Ace(1) and a 2, the player has 3 points total. If the dealer receives a six and a J (0), he scores a hand total of 6- which is closest to 8 and wins.
The banker bet pays 95% of your initial wager. This is due to the 5% commission the house deducts on every banker win. For example, if you wager $30 on the banker and win, your winnings will be $28.5. $1.5 will go to the house as commission. Your total payout is then $58.5 (winnings + original bet)
-
-
Player Bets
-
Your player bets win if you bet on the player hand, and it’s closest to 9. Player bets payouts match your first wager (double or 1:1). Let’s say you stake $30 on the player hand and win, you’ll get $30 in winnings. Your total payout from the round would then be $60 (winnings + initial wager).
-
Tie Bets
A tie bet is wagering on the probability that the bank hand and player hand will get an equal hand total. This wager pays out 8:1 in winnings. stake $30 on a tie, and it wins, you will receive $240 in winnings. Add the initial stake, and your total payout would be $270
Baccarat Betting Strategy – Avoid the Tie Bet
Although the bet has a high payout, players generally refer to it as a “sucker” bet. This is due to its worst odds of winning and a very high house percentage (14.36%). That means for every hundred bets of $1 you place; you would theoretically lose $14.36.
The tie bet has odds of 8:1, lower than the banker bet’s odds of 1.1 and the player bet’s 1.24. Most Baccarat guides do not recommend this type of stake, but rather the other two.
Also, it is recommended to bet on the banker, especially for beginners.
Baccarat Tips and Strategies for 2022
There are several advanced baccarat betting strategies and schemes you can adopt to maximize your bets. Let’s take a look at the most efficient ones below.
1. Martingale Strategy
The Martingale strategy is one of the most widely used baccarat winning strategy. The system was developed by Paul Pierre Levy, a French mathematician and became popular in the 18th century.
The Martingale strategy assumes that the payout will get very close to the bet’s RTP in the long run. As such, the baccarat pattern strategy states that you should double your next wager if you lost your last wager. So let’s say your initial stake was $10. Using this strategy, your next wager should be $20. If it loses, you double it again to $40 and continue till you win.
The moment you secure a win, you stop doubling down. Instead, you remove your winnings and start with your initial bet. Let’s say you win $80, you remove $70 and wager your original $10. This system is only ideal for players with a substantial bankroll.
2. Fibonacci Strategy
This baccarat pattern strategy dictates the amount you wager after a loss using the Fibonacci sequence. The Fibonacci sequence is a natural number sequence whereby the sum of two numbers determines the next number in the progression. For instance a Fibonacci sequence looks like this: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, etc.
For every bet you lose, you increase it on the next wager. You continue this system until you secure a win, then return to your initial bet. In case you stake $20 on Player’s hand and lose your first two wagers, your third bet should be 3x your original stake- $60 (3x$20).
If the third bet wins, you will get a payout of $60. This winning covers the amount you lost in your first two wagers. You would then revert to your initial bet of $20. However, in case you lose three times in a row, your fourth wager would be 5x your first wager. Follow the Fibonacci sequence, but go back to your original stake the moment you record a win.
3. Labouchere Strategy
The Labouchere strategy is also known as American Progression, the Cancellation System, or the Split Martingale. While it may be very efficient, this baccarat betting strategy is more complex than the first two. However, it involves several wins rather than recouping your loss with one win after a losing streak. Here is how it works.
- Create any sequence you prefer: For instance, let’s say you choose 2-3-4
- Wager the amount equal to the sum of the last and first number on that sequence. Using the one above, you will bet $2 (first) and $4 (last), making $6
- In case your stake wins, remove the first and last number on that sequence. You will have $6, which you should wager next.
- If your wager loses, add a number to the sequence after a loss. Include a number at the end of the sequence for every loss and remove the first and last numbers each time you win.
4. D’Alembert Strategy
This baccarat winning strategy was devised by Jean le Rond d’Alembert. It is based on a positive, progressive system like the Martingale. However, it helps you avoid heavy and constant losses while making profits. Here is how you use D’Alembert Strategy
- Select your base unit, usually the value of a single unit. Choose $1 tokens, so your base unit is 1.
- Increase your following bet by 1 for every wager you lose. Let’s say your initial wager is $5 and you lost; you should increase your next bet to $6.
- When your bet results in a win, revert to your initial $5 wager until you lose. Then, increase your bet by $1 and continue the circle.
- When you experience losses three times in a row, remove one chip and continue your bet. Let’s say your wager is $8 after three subsequent losses, remove one token to make your next bet $7.
5. 1324 Baccarat Betting Strategy
The 1324 system is similar to the ones we have discussed earlier. However, this plan is more fun and simpler. It states that you increase your bets every time you win a hand, and if you lose, you go back to wagering your initial stake.
With this pattern, you can record consistent wins and manage losses better. Start with $1 at a baccarat table, so your following bet would be $3. In case you win the next round, your wager should increase to $2.
A fourth win would take your next bet to $4. Another win takes you back to $1, and the cycle continues. However always revert to your previous bet in case you lose your wager while following the 1324 baccarat plan.
Choose your baccarat pattern strategy and start playing! You can start by joining live casino sites where you can play the regular version of baccarat and also the live game. You must make a deposit before being able to play the live option. The general stake for this game starts at C$2, and you can try the baccarat betting strategy that suits you.
